Quality Control

To provide you the best quality tea, quality control measures are taken to protect our products. It starts with the supplier, then our own in-house quality control procedures, and then how you can maintain that quality once you receive your order.

Supplier

We strive to provide only top quality loose leaf tea and we thoroughly inspect each shipment when it arrives from the supplier to determine acceptance. We also track our inventory with datestamps to ensure that we are always providing only fresh tea to our customers.

Our supplier grows and processes many teas and inspects all tea prior to packaging and shipping. They participate with the China National Commodity Inspection and Testing Bureau to guarantee their quality. They are also certified in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system compliance and General Hygienic Regulation for Food Manufacturing from the China Quality Certification Centre. Finally, they have obtained Certified Conformity of GB/T19001-2000 idt ISO9001:2000 Standard in the production and service of tea.

Shipping

When we package orders, we personally inspect the tea a second time as we hand package to ensure only the best quality product is being sent out. Further, we use rigid cardboard boxes and packing material to protect your products during shipping. This helps to mitigate the risk of damage during shipment. Tracking numbers are provided for every order. If a package arrives to you damaged, please refuse the shipment so that you are not accepting responsibility!

Storage

To maintain the quality of the tea once it arrives, please store the tea in a dry area, away from sunlight, and at a relatively constant temperature. The tea can remain in its resealable bag for a couple of months, but for longer storage, consider using a stainless steel storage tin.

Always keep tea away from spices, as tea can absorb the aromas of the spices very easily and affect its taste. Also avoid using plastic to store tea as the plastic absorbs odors and allows light to pass through. Finally, do not store tea in the refrigerator because the extra moisture inside can adversely affect the tea.
