About Us
A gift of tea started it all...
My real discovery of loose leaf tea came from one of my former flight students. She heard me saying that I wanted to lose weight and so she gifted me a box of Yunnan tea from her country, China. I had never heard of this kind of tea, but I appreciated the gift and decided to try it. Initially, I didn’t care for it. I didn’t brew it right and it was bitter. I started researching how to brew tea and learned about Gong Fu brewing. I was fascinated with this “martial arts” approach to brewing tea. Every aspect of brewing the tea, from seeing to smelling to tasting, was important. I wanted to practice it myself. I bought a cheap tea set and tried the Yunnan tea again. It was so much better! I was also very curious about other types of tea, so I searched for new teas to try.
My Journey
Finding new teas to try was hard for me where I live, and starting out on my journey to discover new tea was difficult to navigate. I ended up buying a lot of tea that I didn’t care for. That’s why I wanted to create a way to share a curated listing of tea to family, friends, and anyone else interested. I’ve done the work of tasting many teas and only adding the best ones to my collection for you to experience.
The Results
In addition to providing a curated selection of tea and teaware, I want to continue learning and share knowledge with others. That’s where my newsletter comes in. You’ll find articles about teas, tea tasting videos, reviews, and more. Tasting new teas and adding to my list here is fun! I get to step back from the rush of normal day to day. Often times I brew tea as a way of meditation, but, thankfully, tea can be very social, too.
Your Journey
I wish I had someone to help me on my initial journey of learning about tea. I would have saved money and learned faster! After spending that time researching, learning, and tasting tea, I want to help you learn about tea, too.
